There is something about burlap mixed with some elegant elements that really do it for me! I love incorporating the two styles together. This shade started off as a plain white shade, I added the burlap garland, vintage earrings and the beautiful champagne colored feathers, the result is a little something I call Rustic Elegance! Ikat has been around for quite some time. I love small doses of it on pillows, accent chairs and if you want some graphic, bold drapes, try adding to any window! I love contrast! Light against dark and dark against light! Contrast helps your eyes move around a space and appreciate the different tones. As long as there is contrast in color, textures and various heights in any space, I’m happy!

I was contacted to re-create this amazing ostrich feather pendant. The pendant will be going on an arc lamp and in my client’s living room. She emailed me a picture of the $5,000 lamp she wanted me to re-create. I was so excited to work on this project and I need to make more! I’m in love with the finished outcome because it’s a great accent for any space. It’s a little romantic, most definitely chic and contemporary at the same time!

Since grandma was a “great” grandma, we all started calling her “Greats!”  When she passed away in November, Christmas was just around the corner.  I knew I had to take Greats’ lamps and do something fun and funky to enjoy them for the holiday season!  This was simple, and anyone can do this for a “quick” fix!  The shades were in really good shape, so I added burlap garland, my first layer!  I love some rustic elements!  Second layer consisted of white tulle ribbon with vintage ornaments tied together for a beautiful, colorful vintage Christmas!

I decided to attach them to one side of the shade, OH YES I DID!!  Sometimes, I just have to go the extra step, and push the idea a little further, so it only made sense to attach the branches to one side and have it extend!  As part of our compromise, and me having to add the “special” touches, we waited until the baby was born until I was able to add either the pinks and feminine touches, or the blues and reds with some boy edge!  I made an “L” monogram charm with vintage trim and a map of Paris behind it!  The owls were hand made and purchased on Etsy!  A special lamp for my special friend and her sweet baby girl-Lydia!
